Kings Bagpiper Band Drums Performance Team based in Kolkata West Bengal India, is actively recruiting experienced pipers and drummers, as well as interested students of all ages to join its ranks.
The band was founded in 1998, with the goal of teaching young people the arts of piping and drumming. The band is proud of its regimental dress and its strong musical ability. Kings Bagpiper Band Drums Performance Team has since opened its ranks to adults while maintaining it’s mission of teaching youths.
The Pipe Band is under the direction of Gurmeet Singh. Gurmeet Singh, who has a bachelor of Music from College of Music, MA, is a well known local musician.
He teaches all woodwind instruments as well as Bagpipes, directs the popular swing band known as Top Band and is a member of the Kolkata Army Band.

The Drum Major is Gurmeet Singh. Mr. Gurmeet singh is a decorated veteran having served with the 1st Infantry Division as well as the famous bagpiper Band Player. He has the distinction of winning first place at the competition, in the amateur division Drum Major. Gurmeet singh regularly attends Drum Major workshops, seminars and competitions throughout India.
Kings Bagpiper Band Drums performing Team, has been chosen for the kilts and the Band proudly bears the name of the first king of bagpipers, and has competed and performed in the competition in the year 2000.
We offer our services to the local Events and wedding planners & sundry Departments in the Cities and perform at many of their functions.
Although the dynamics of the age group has changed, the focus of the band remains to pass the arts of Kolkata West Bengal piping and drumming to our youth. We have had great success with the young people who have joined us and hope to continue on that same path in years to come.
