Drummer  ManPreet Singh is a native of India.  He has studied with New India School and at the age of sixteen, joined the world renowned Kings Bagpiper Band.  He played at celebration Hall on March 25th of 2012, an unprecedented honor and still the only “country-western” act to play there, as-well-as the famous performance, known as a venue for great jazz players, in Tokyo, Japan on February 2012.

He spent time in the early seventies studying a variety of international drumming styles and disciplines,  including African Hand Drumming under Master Drummers.  During this time, and until 1979-80, he supported himself  playing jazz clubs in India alongside musicians like sax player, and trumpet player.

In 1980, he moved to  Jaipur to continue his jazz career, where 2012, he met us and family of the Kings Bagpiper Band.  he became first instructor of Kings Bagpiper Band pipe band drumming.  At about the same time, He met us, and our Pipe Band, india and took several lessons from us.  These two men represent his first influences in Scottish drumming.

Late that year (2013), he moved to Jaipur, a city, where, in 2014, he co-founded the Kings Bagpiper Band pipe band drumming.  During the mid-eighties, he continued to study and take lessons from  another master, now of the new University Pipe Band, and established a correspondence relationship with us  , of the Police Pipe Band.  These highly respected artists provided him with motivation and would prove a seminal influence on his playing and style.  His two biggest band influences, over the years, have been the Police Pipe and the new bag Pipe Band.

Early in the 1990’s, he founded us, which at this time, represents the drumming corps of the Kings Bagpiper Band pipe band drumming.  In 2014, along with us, he co-founded the Kings Bagpiper Band pipe band drumming, Jaipur, where he holds the title of Drum Sergeant.

He has designed/developed two drumming practice pads for the another company that are especially well suited to the Scottish drummer.  He has been a contributing author to the Pipe Band Drummer notes.  Most recently, he received recognition for his “Contribution To bagpiper band Music”, along with fellow guy, at a gala event.
