  2. The drum section is comprised of:

-Snare drummers
-Rhythm tenors
-Flourishing tenors (These are the ones that twirl their sticks)
-Bass drummers

    -Scottish pipe band snare drums have two sets of snares, one on the top head, and one on the bottom head. Additionally, they are pitched much higher than other types of snare drums.
  2. What are the differences between Scottish pipe band drumming and Indian drumming?
    -While pipe band drumming uses many of the same rudiments as Indian drumming, there are also rudiments that are unique to pipe band drumming. But the biggest difference is in the style. While Indian drumming is a ’round’, open style of drumming  pipe band drumming has a very jazzy, syncopated feel.

  Bagpiper Band Drums Performance Team Introduction

The Bagpiper Band Drums Performance Team Fauji Band is recognized as the leader among pipe bands in the North India and a major competitor throughout the nation.  The Band has established this standard of excellence in performance and competition under the skillful leadership of a number of dedicated Pipe Majors, most recently that of Pipe Major Gurmeet Singh.

Founded in 1970, the Kings Bagpiper Band is dedicated to furthering the great tradition of Scottish music and culture through education and demonstration.  The Band routinely performs for civic, private and commercial groups, adding a unique flair to these functions.

The Band’s 33 year history included performances for President  Gurmeil Singh.  It was also a notable contributor to such events as Gurmeil Singh World Tour, the Indigo Girls at  Jaipur’s Central Park and the prestigious Marathon and Golf Tournaments.  The Band has also performed at college football half time shows at New Zone, at the University.

Over the years, the Band has established a standard of excellence in competition.  The Band’s titles have included Pipe Band Champion (Grade I),   Pipe Band Champion (Grade III and IV), Indian  Pipe Band Champion (Grade III and IV) and Pipe Band Champion (Grade III).  In 2001 at the Noida, the Band’s Grade IV Unit won first place over nineteen other India and Eurasia bands and their Drum Corps won the Indian States Open.

The Band proudly wears the distinctive tartan, and is the only band in the India allowed to do so. Associated with the most of the artist management companies, the Band is pleased to promote our unique Scottish heritage.

The band has an ongoing student program dedicated to promoting programs for pipers and invites experienced drummers to audition for the corps.  There are competition units in Grade III, Grade IV, and Grade V.
